Peter solo, Brixton Mass (2008-05-26)

Was dead good. Crowd were cunty, though. Put me off recording Peter and Shambles any more, pretty much.

Here's a brief sample, anyhoo: Peter and Dot singing 'I Wanna Break Your Heart'

Rest to follow... DPT now.

Cheers. Hopefully they'll release this song. It deserves to be.

Cheers PM, something for my week away.  Keep going to the gigs, don't let the fuckers drag you down Wink but must admit the crowd are different nowadays.

Odd combination of people consciously being shitheads, and people who jsut don't realise that they're shitheads. Some fella whacking his umbrella on the ground in time with the music. Why, god, why?

Evil or Very Mad

Jumping bean girl from Kentish Town was there, she and her boyfriend kept glaring at me.

I nearly got into a fight at the forum with a bunch of dick heads. I went with my younger sister who is 15 so was looking out for her, towards the end we were stood right at the side... yet some lads were pushing each other around and pushing each other into people standing nearby, well far away enough to not want to get involved.... Which mostly consists of younger fans and especially girls just watching the band not wanting to get involved.

Well these mugs were knocking girls onto the floor, as it is much more spacious towards the side if you get knocked down you go flying onto the floor. So I said to them, 'be careful, you're hurting people' I was hoping for a bit of support maybe from others around who saw what they were doing but I was pretty much surrounded by his mates. One of them stepped up to me, and raised a fist as to hit me to try make my flinch so I pushed him over. His friends then stood up to me but I just invited them on, thought I'd come this far... Might as well pretend to be hard.

They ended up just backing off and one of them tapped me on the shoulder a couple of mins later and shook my hand and apologised. Obviously this fella was all good, but generally they were a right bunch of twats. I know people get excited and are having fun at gigs, but young girls were getting knocked onto the floor harshly.

My sister said I shouldn't of said anything. I don't know what the right thing to do is. I'm not one to make a scene over nothing, so at least they stopped.

Mr Power Monkey - any chance of you upping the rest of this gig?

Soon! Another gig this fine evening, will fiddle with the Peter recording tomorrow night hopefully. It needs some work to fix it up and make it all sparkly and fresh.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Very Happy

Thank you very much.  The taster was very good quality - as are all the other recordings that you have shared.
Don't suppose you know whether or not Half Cocked Boy was recorded from the second night?  Would be very interested to hear what that sounded like acoustically.

I tend to bite my lip as i dont trust myself not to loose my temper and take things too far with idiots like that. Seeing people like that would have really pissed me off though. These days me and the wife always stay near the back or sides as going to the front is a young mans game and these areas should be more chilled.
