Peter at Brixton last night....

The crowd were cunts. I got very angry, shouted a bit, stomped off outside and got pissed.

Then after a bit I wandered back in. Still quite a lot of cunts, chatted to one of the bouncers a bit, had a laugh, met some nice people, off out again for more beer.

Few people left, I figured it was over. OH my no. On Peter went. And on, and on. He called it 'last man standing' and told us he'd play until we'd all gone. When he was finally done he counted 17 of us left.

Laughing

The lad was onstage for 3 and a half, 4 hours. Played somewhere in the region of 40 songs. Played very well, sang VERY well. And.... he played one he hasn't played before:

There was other stuff I've not heard of him doing before... Suicide In The Trenches, with music.... a completely improvised version of For Lovers with Alan Wass' keyboard player (which was thrilling... heartbreaking.... indescribable really - even before it segued into a lovely version of Waterfall by the Stone Roses).

Wow.

News just in.... John Hassall sang with the Shambles this evening. The Shambles opened with Man Who Came To Stay.

Taped the beginning, but got really fucking ANGRY after the first few songs and went outside, ended up drinking San Miguel by the truckload, meeting new people, and listening to Jeff Buckley on my ipod. Only went back in quite some time later, but thank FUCK I did. Stood leaning on the barrier with a bunch of mates, watching Peter playing so well....

He was on top form with the gags, as well... some women kept shouting for him, he finally came over and she said "PETEEEEEEEEEE! Play ..... (I forget what she wanted)!!!!!!!! I FLEW FROM AMERICA FOR THIS!!!!!!!!"

Peter says: "Sure, as soon as you lot stop bombing Iraq!"

Cue the rest of the audience ROFL'ing and LOL'ing all over the place. Brilliant!

Very Happy

I'll give this a listen, so far all the responses on FDB has been positive.
Surely it can't be any cooler than Maybelline!!! Shocked I can't get it out my head, must have heard it about 12 times today, if I only I could make out the words I wouldn't have to walk around at work mumbling incoherantly "Maybelline Maybelline, would I feel this way, I don't want your love, but I still need you love, baby baby baby." Cool  Laughing
Rich

I believe your referring to this one Ricky? Laughing
