Glasgow

A very good night indeed.

Met Anne Mcloy, Elyza and Jack (dink) beforehand

Babyshambles scheduled for 9.15pm, rumours floating around that Pete's flight was delayed so 'Shambles appeared (eventually) at 9.40pm

Swaggering onstage to "O'flower o' Scotland"

they played, in order (I caught a setlist)

Carry on up the morning
Delivery
Beg, steal, borrow
Pretty Sue
Baddie's Boogie
Unstookietitled
Side of the road
Boy David
Unbilotitled
The blinding
You talk
Sedative
Albion
Pipedown
**encore**
Sedative
Killamangiro
I Wish
Fuck Forever

I think the setlist is a little scrambled however, because it says Back from the dead, which they never even played.

Managed to catch Pete's hat pretty early going, however was punched right in the nose by a man in his mid 40's (saddo) and I was pulled out for "instigating a barney"

Overall it was okay, Pete didn't look in the soberest of conditions but he didn't look fucked either.

Babyshambles left the stage to the song "I belong to Glasgow, dear old Glasgow town"

watch www.teawithtufty.blogspot.com for a (very probable) bootleg.

Off to watch Black Books now.

P.s -

Update on one of the lamps - still broken.

Someone flung a shoe which smashed the working lamp, Drew responded by throwing it back and, as luck would have it, smacked them in the mouth.

Well done Drew.

what's boy david like?

Good work, fella! Not a great idea, given the likelihood of causing a Guns N Roses-style riot, but hey.

Glad the show was good!

I received phone calls whilst I was on night shift last night from four different mates at various points during the gig, with them holding their phones up to let me hear what I was missing. Arseholes.
RickJamesBitch!

They never played a lot of those songs. I was a bit disappointed with it to be honest. Just seemed there wasn't a lot played outwith Shotters Nation. The likes of Albion were scrapped last night in favour of some absolute shite off Shotters Nation.
Old Greg

Yip they didnt play albion.

Dull, Bland, ten a penny band type stuff are just some of the words/phrases that come to mind to describe them last night (oh and I could have been sick at the o flower of scotland intorudction)

Think this may be the night babyshambles died for me.

HOwever the courteeners were really really good. I kno most folk are not fans on here but they blew babyshambles away last night... the stone roses sample being a highlight
elyza

thought it was the blandest, most boring gig i've been to in a long while. dissapointing set list and possiby the worst support band i've ever heard in my life and i have heard a few bad ones.
Old Greg

Did anyone go to firewatter after? Did they turn up?

ahhh i think that may have been my mates shoe (she didnt throw it) she lost both at one point, they were sort of black lace up/slip on things, we coulnt find them at all at the end, found one tucked behind the lamp next to drew, the other was noweher to be seen, so she hopped home...

Also, someone nicked my purple beanie hat, not a clue where it went but found it attached to the Coat stand on stage at the end and the bouncer gave it back, its all stretched and stinks of smoke but i refuse to throw it out, its my lucky hat!

due to an absolute fluke, i didn't have to pay for our tickets. and i am so glad about that. would have been raging if i'd paid! i think the shambles have lost their magic.
Milly x

hah lucky you, i payed double and was still glad i went, thought it was a good night but the crowd had some complete neds in it, I dont like Sn live as much as DIA, it'd be good if they did half and half. The gig was still good i thought, but a very different gig than what they were... since SN the style of gig has been very different, its good to be tight and all that - and they are that - but theres something else that has changed and im not really sure what it is, i havent decided if its for better or for worse yet
Quadrophenia

Didn't even venture upstairs, was asked six times by tracksuit wearing guys if "I had any pills 'cos John sent us"
Quadrophenia

I didn't think they played Albion, came in pretty worse for wear last night so just read off the setlist.

Re Boy David - they didn't play it, or Pretty Sue.

Aside from that, I had a really good night, it went really well.

They played There She Goes as well.

yeah manc was ace. is boy david the song with lyrics "no regrets dont look back"? was listening to it thinking this cant be boy david
Old Greg

By all accounts it was better last night...

My mate phoned me during For Lovers, sounded ace.

Althoguh apparently Pete got hit with a pint and stormed off followed by the rest of the band. Mik reappeared and scolded the crowd then did I wish on his own before being joined by the rest of the band….
Quadrophenia

Apparently someone ran onstage and nicked Pete's hat as well which (allegedly) cost him £85. Fans followed the band back to the hotel they were staying in and threw a flatscreen television out of the window into the street below.
Old Greg

Forgot about that, my mate said it was the highlight of the night!
Some guy wandering onto the stage stole his hat then did a dance with pete just staring at him….then the guy being flattened by about 5 bouncers.

The band threw a flat screen TV out the window I assume you mean? Any idea where they were staying?

No, I mean a fan followed them to the hotel, the band went back to their rooms and a fan threw a tv out of the window.

It says they were staying in the City Inn

Yes they did. My sister challenged Mik to a game of pool and we told him to get a partner as we wanted to play doubles. He brought Pete as his partner! We didn't even know he was there. They won but i was well chuffed anyway.

I can't believe people thought the gig was shit I loved it! That was the 10th time i'd seen them and I think they are just getting better and better! Im loving the new stuff and to be honest am not really bothered about hearing Albion at gigs all the time. I think they've done fantastic to get where they are now, they work so well together as a band and I don't believe they have lost anything at all! yeah the gigs are less shambolic ( i couldn't imagine there were set lists at the beginning) but at least now there is less chance that they won't turn up and you can pretty much guarantee an entertaining night, in my humble opinion anyway.
Dougie Arnott

Yeah, I was there last night(Thursday) and thought they were top drawer to be honest with you. The second half of the set especially it really picked up and the place was electric.

I think people can look into the whole history of things too much to be honest. I hadnt been to a babyshambles gig before last night so I cant compare but I cant really knock it to be honest. They played the tunes well, had a good bit of banter, thought pete was on form. One of the best gigs Ive been to in a long time

There was a few tunes I wish they had played, Pipedown, Back From The Dead, UnBiloTitled, French Dog Blues and so on but it was still ace in my opinion.

Good wee singalong walking out as well. Laughing
Wa Wa

I agree - I thought they were a lot more on it during the second half of the gig after they came back on.  Wasn't expecting to hear Time for Heroes or For Lovers -I thought it was the best gig of the two nights.  Wednesday was good as well though.
