Five-o worst songs with Libertines, BS, solo aso...

It struck me today, as always folks are talking bout the finest compositions.
but now's the time to list the worst...

I'll let you start...I'll fill in later haven't reflected over it yet..
Quadrophenia

Babyshambles - A Day out in New Brighton (WHY?)
The Libertines - General Smuts
Babyshambles - Monkey Casino
Babyshambles - Clementine
The Libertines - Plan A
Ricky Foley

Yeah A Day Out In New Brighton is a terrible terrible "song"
I don't like Up The Morning too much, it could have actually been good or the Babyshambles version of East Of Eden, they ruined a classic there.
bazjam

Babyshambles-Monkey Casino, my favorite song ruined.
the shambolian

A day out in new righton
East of Eden
Radio America
Shambles Smurph

1) A Day Out in New Brighton - Babyshambles (not a song at all)
2) There She Goes a Little Heartache - Babyshambles (love Pete solo tho)
3) General Smuts - The Libertines
4) Pentonville - Babyshambles
5) Stone Me What a Life - Babyshambles (hate the production, but like it when they play it live)

I just can't make out a word of it, something about prawns? He sounds off his tits and it's pretty cringeworthy. I don't see the point in wasting money to record in a studio when it's something like that. They could've done Fixing Up To Go (which i'm still waiting for)

Sorry, hope I didn't really upset you with my choices.

Always thought of Wolfman as a messy baghead song to be honest.

And I find Side of the road to be... hmm.. Childish???

Just how it sounds to me anyway.
Ricky Foley

Im not a fan of Wolfman either and also The Acoustic Crumb Begging Baghead as the lyrics suck. The album version is cool cause I like the music, but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't play it live. Id much prefer them to play French Dog Blues and Deft Left Hand instead....which they never seem too play. Confused  Sad

Radio Ameria is one of my faves, the dust productions, the drums, the guitar, lyrically great, i love the imagry in this song, and the way it severs as a kind of interlude for the album, like a chance to take a deep breath, also it showed they weren't just a punk band. loves it. can close your eyes and get lost in this one, i'd love if the libs followed up an album full of shit like this.
Quadrophenia

I love Radio America as well, and Wolfman.
Ricky Foley

This there any live versions or demos of Radio Amercia, as far as im aware the album version is all thats out there, anyone any different??

Pretty sure they've never played it live, ever. I don't think Pete or Carl liked the songs, as they recorded it one night when they were wasted and thought the vocals were embarassing. If they have played it live, no one has a bootleg of it.

Thats a shame, it's got great lyrics.
I totally agree with Pill Happy's coment on the song.
It would have been good to have a bootleg with it on. Sad

I agree with you mostly, am sick of hearing them all but Beg Steal Borrow, i love that tune but i've not listened to it too many times to be sick of it yet.
comrade

the work track on each album

Up the bracket - Begging

The Libertines - The Saga

DIA - sticks and stones

Waterloo to anywhere - BURMA

The Blinding E.P. - beg steal and borrow (although the version of I love you but... is the least listenable track on the album)

Shotters Nation - You talk or Unstookie(I know unstookie is a controversial choice)

That was rather difficult at moments i must admit

Pretty sure they only agreed to record it in the first place because Pete won a bet with Carl, or Carl owed him loads of money or something.

Would probably cry if Pete played that live. Utterly gorgeous song.
